A licenced bar showing Sky Sports TV can be enjoyed by locals and on weekdays you can indulge in the delights served by Strong Beans Coffee Shop. Weekly activities take place too, including karate, fitness and dance classes or there’s a range of clubs and societies to get involved with locally; from sports groups such as football and badminton to youth organisations including Scouts and Brownies.Claydon Primary School pupils design a welcome card for our new residents
We challenged Year 5 pupils at Claydon Primary School to design a ‘welcome to your new home’ card for our new residents at Barham Meadows.
The competition saw lots of enthusiastic children take part, each showcasing their artistic talents. We selected three winners who were all awarded for their creative efforts; taking first place was Freya, followed by Faith in second place and Oliver in third place.
Freya’s welcome card, which contains a short, heartwarming poem, was brought to life and will now be sent to new residents at Barham Meadows.
Mrs O’Connor, Headteacher at Claydon Primary School said: “The children were so excited to take part in the competition as it gave them the opportunity to get colourful and creative. We hope the new homeowners at Barham Meadows love their welcome card as they become a part of the local community.”
Olivia Peters, Head of Sales at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: "We’re thrilled to have Claydon Primary School pupils take part in our competition. The competition brought creativity and enthusiasm from all the children and we’re sure that our residents will love their welcome cards."
We support Claydon High School’s Festive Afternoon Tea
Claydon High School got into the festive spirit and hosted a Christmas-themed afternoon tea for the local community on Tuesday 10th December.
We donated £400 to cover the cost of each person's entry to the event and also supported the purchase of afternoon tea boxes which were donated to Barham Care Centre.
On the day, the local community enjoyed a special performance from the Claydon Choir while feasting on festive delights from cranberry tarts to Christmas pudding.
Kirsty Wilson, Hospitality and Catering Teacher at Claydon High School, said: “The Festive Afternoon Tea was enjoyed by many of our students and the local community. We host various afternoon tea events throughout the year, but always require attendees to purchase a ticket, so we were delighted when Taylor Wimpey East Anglia offered to cover the cost of the entire event - thank you so much for the generous donation!”
Olivia Peters, Head of Sales at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: "Christmas is a wonderful time of the year for celebrating and we are delighted to have been able to support the Claydon community with its festive afternoon tea.
“Our partnership with Claydon High School is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to supporting the local community, and we hope to continue working with the school next year.”

We donated a colourful collection of road safety equipment to Claydon Primary School in Ipswich, in support of Road Safety Week
We donated a bundle of road safety equipment to Claydon Primary School in Ipswich, in support of Road Safety Week.
The school received a colourful collection of reflective equipment including, bag tags, snap bands and high-vis vests allowing students to shine bright and be seen on their way to and from school.
Road Safety Week took place between the 17th and 23rd November 2024, allowing thousands of schools, organisations and communities to get involved and raise awareness of the importance of road safety.
Mrs O’Connor, Headteacher at Claydon Primary School said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey East Anglia for their generous donation. Many of our pupils walk to and from school and as winter approaches it’s important that our students can be seen on their travels. The new road safety equipment will really help our children arrive and leave the school premises safely in the winter and beyond.”
Olivia Peters, Head of Sales at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia said: “We’re proud to provide much needed equipment to Claydon Primary School which is located close to our Barham Meadows development. Road Safety Week is a great initiative and we hope that our donation will encourage the children to walk to school and spend more time outdoors, while staying safe.”
Finding the perfect home: Craig and Alex’s journey to Barham Meadows
Having always liked Barham village, they registered their interest as soon as Taylor Wimpey’s signs went up. “The location ticked all the boxes,” Craig said. “Everything we needed was nearby, and we loved the idea of joining this new community.”
Reflecting on their experience, they praised the Barham Meadows team. “The sales execs Rachael and Lyle, Site Manager Brian, assistant site manager Sarah and Sarah from customer services were all fantastic,” Alex said. “They kept us updated and even arranged visits before completion.”
Now happily settled, Craig and Alex couldn’t be more pleased. “We’re so glad we chose Taylor Wimpey,” Alex said. “The experience has been brilliant, and we’d recommend them to anyone looking for a quality new home.”
Istvan Bors and Timea Antal are settling into their new home at Barham Meadows
Istvan Bors and Timea Antal are settling into their new home at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia’s Barham Meadows development, and they couldn’t be happier with their decision. After considering various properties, the couple chose a new build to avoid the stress of hidden issues and costly renovations.
“We initially looked at second-hand homes, but many had hidden problems or would require expensive renovations,” said Istvan. “After speaking with Rachael from Taylor Wimpey, we knew Barham Meadows was the perfect place for us. The location is ideal, close to Ipswich yet in a peaceful village setting.”
The couple, who moved from a rental property in Ipswich, opted for the Eynesford house type, a spacious three-bedroom semi-detached home. Timea explained, “We needed a home office, a guest bedroom, and our own bedroom. The Eynesford provided all of that, plus extra space we didn’t know we needed.”
Since moving in, Istvan and Timea have been impressed by the quality of their new home. “The heating efficiency is fantastic. We no longer need to use as much energy to stay warm, and the underfloor heating downstairs is a great touch,” said Istvan. Timea added, “The water pressure in the en-suite shower is amazing, and the instant hot water is such a convenience. The EV charger was a great bonus too.”
The couple also appreciates the modern, practical features of the home, such as the efficient ventilation system, which maintains humidity levels and prevents mould. Timea added, “The large kitchen and spacious layout make it a comfortable, practical space for us.”
Though the development is still in its early stages, the couple is already enjoying the quiet, welcoming community. “The neighbours are lovely, and we’re excited to see the development grow,” said Istvan.
Reflecting on their buying experience, Timea said, “The whole process was flawless. The sales team was incredibly helpful, and we felt supported every step of the way. We were especially impressed by the aftercare service – Sarah Cooke and Rachael Hamilton have been fantastic.”
For Istvan and Timea, choosing Taylor Wimpey was an easy decision, especially after hearing positive feedback from friends who had bought homes with the builder. “We couldn’t be happier with the quality of our home and the customer service we’ve received. We’d absolutely recommend Taylor Wimpey to others.”
Local investment
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.
To support the growing community in Barham, we’ll be contributing £3,490,000 to Mid Suffolk Council to help fund local services and infrastructure. Our contributions to the local community will include a £1,431,210 education contribution and £60,000 towards an extension to the adjacent St Mary & St Peter’s Church, including a new car park.
This is how much Taylor Wimpey has contributed last year...
