We Inspire Creativity Amongst Ribblesdale School Children
We have collaborated with Ribblesdale School, to host a series of exciting activities as part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community surrounding our Half Penny Meadows development.
Earlier in the academic year, we challenged Ribblesdale School pupils to design a welcome design which will be showcased in the Half Penny Meadows sales office to welcome prospective customers to the development. Many enthusiastic children from the school took part, each showcasing their artistic talents.
In July, we also invited the children at the primary provision to get outside and participate in planting various flowers and shrubs. The planters were made by our team and the plants were purchased and provided by Shackletons Home & Garden Centre. This initiative aimed to create a key feature for children to enjoy while teaching them valuable gardening tips and information about the plants.
Joanne Whalley, Primary Lead at Ribblesdale School, said: “The pupils at the primary provision had a lovely afternoon working with the staff from Taylor Wimpey and Shackletons. They had the opportunity to develop their gardening skills, ask insightful questions and learn more about plants. We are delighted with the addition of the planters in our new Key Stage One playground - they add vibrancy and show our commitment to developing all things natural at the primary site. The children are looking forward to being responsible for watering and tending to the plants and seeing them grow.”

It's heartening to witness the creativity and enthusiasm of the children and we are proud to contribute to the development of artistic skills within the community and also encourage a love for gardening with the planting session at the school.”
The activities not only brought excitement to the children at Ribblesdale School but also served as a perfect example of the positive impact that collaboration between businesses and schools can have on local communities.
We have also supported the school with a contribution towards the costs of their school prospectus and a £200 donation towards a James’ Place raffle prizes at the schools most recent summer fair.
