After living separately for a year, Matthew and Lauren are delighted to have found their very first home at Berrymead Gardens in Darlington.
Matthew and Lauren are loving life in their new home, the couple said: “Berrymead Gardens has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and we believe we’ve found our first perfect home. Our dog, Skye, also loves it here too, she’s obsessed with the cows and the sheep in the field behind us!”

Mental health charity wins our Community Chest competition
Our Community Chest competition invited Darlington residents to nominate local causes, with I’m George’s Mate chosen for funding.Founded in 2023 after George’s attempted suicide, the charity supports suicide prevention education. A £1,000 donation will help fund courses for schools and colleges.
Volunteer Jenny Baxter said: “We hope to turn a horrific situation into something positive, helping young people support their mental health.”
Nicki Hope, Sales and Marketing Director, added: “We’re proud to support this vital cause.”

We help Darlington school pupils stay safe during Road Safety Week
We donated a colourful collection of clip-on lights to Harrowgate Hill Primary School in Darlington, as part of Road Safety Week.
The lights, which can be fastened onto bags or bikes help pupils be seen by drivers when out and about in the local community and when travelling to and from school.
Mrs. Abbott, Headteacher at Harrowgate Hill Primary School said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire for the clip-on lights. Our pupils' safety is the most important thing to us and the new equipment will allow them to be visible as they walk to and from school - so thank you Taylor Wimpey!”

We supported Darlington Cares at Christmas
We provided a vital boost to Darlington Cares’ Christmas appeal by donating essential items and food as part of their Christmas Collection.Founded in 2012, Darlington Cares is a community interest company who provides support to the local community through various projects aiming to improve education, tackle poverty and make environmental improvements. This year, the organisation requested donations of food and essential items for households that need it the most this Christmas.
In response to the appeal, we collected items including rice, pasta, canned fruits, vegetables, biscuits and an assortment of festive treats, which were then hand delivered to the Kings Church Foodbank.
Chelsea Johnson, Programme Officer for Darlington Cares said: “Christmas is the season of giving, and we’re always overwhelmed by the generosity of the Darlington community. We have been supporting the Kings Church Foodbank for over 10 years and they need our support now more than ever. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire team for donating items, allowing us to help those who are most vulnerable in our community.”
