Taylor Wimpey employee secures dream home at his own development
Before starting work at Taylor Wimpey Hele Park, Taylor Wimpey employee Bradley Reed, and his wife Bethany, decided to make a trip to the new development to get a feel for it. While the aim of the visit was to look around Bradley’s new workplace, the couple stumbled across their dream home.
Describing how both himself and Bethany were sold as soon as they walked on site, Bradley said: “We came to the development on a Sunday afternoon as I was due to start work there on the Monday morning, and our first impression was how easy it was to get to from the A38 and link roads. We also liked that it was just on the outskirts of Newton Abbot but still had easy access to the shopping centre and Dartmoor. When we entered the showhome my wife, who was pregnant at the time, walked into the master bedroom and started crying, within minutes she decided that this was the house for her.”
On the 18th of December 2017 Bradley and Bethany moved into their dream home, and Bradley praises Taylor Wimpey for providing a stress-free experience as he confirms: “The buying process was easy, Jackie from the sales team gave us a letter guiding us through the journey and process. One minute we were reserving, the next thing we knew we had a phone call saying the keys are yours.”
The couple are now enjoying life in their new home as Bradley explains: “We’re all settled in now and we completely adore our house - my wife is still in love with the master bedroom on the top floor. Having a room to ourselves on the third floor feels like a total luxury and it makes the rest of the home feel so spacious. We never imagined that we would be able to move to a three-storey townhouse and we feel incredibly lucky to have this much space.
“The development is such a friendly place, the developers are always courteous of the residents living here and the workmen all stop to say hello. We’ve found the same in Newton Abbot, the free Sunday car parks and markets make it feel more welcoming than the hustle and bustle of Exeter. Not to mention how easy it is to access all the local amenities and leisure facilities, both myself and my wife have no problems commuting to work. Everything is so close, including nurseries, schools and colleges, so we’ll have lots of choice when it comes to picking a school for our daughter in a few year’s time. Overall we could not be happier with our Taylor Wimpey home at Hele Park and we can see ourselves spending many happy years here.”
Children at Newton Abbot school celebrate World Book Day donation
Children at Highweek Community Primary and Nursery School will soon be able to enjoy reading a collection of new books after we gifted £100 to the Newton Abbot-based school to mark World Book Day, which took place on Thursday 7th March.
Now in its 22nd year, World Book Day is a celebration of reading and aims to encourage children and young adults to come together to explore and enjoy literature. To mark the occasion, pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters.
Judy Martyn, Headteacher at Highweek Community Primary and Nursery School, said: “Reading is such an important life skill and something that we encourage all of our pupils to do more of. Having new books to get stuck into helps to keep up an enthusiasm for reading and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation. We can’t wait to add to our library and share new stories with each other.”
