    This project, which has received planning permission, will provide a host of benefits to the local community, such as:

    • Re-use and regeneration of a prominent, unsightly, redundant and contaminated brownfield site that is no longer suitable or viable for employment development. 
    • Provision of new affordable housing allowing families the opportunity of having a decent home in a community where they want to live.
    • Generation of approximately £11.5M per annum of local spending power generated by the new households, thereby supporting local shops, businesses and organisations in Leyland and the surrounding area.
    • Generation of a significant number of new jobs as well as providing support for a range of local businesses. Approximately 40 jobs will be created on site for the duration of construction and significantly more jobs in the supply chain.
    • Inclusion of tree planting and the creation of ecological habitats that can support a more diverse range of species.
