We donated £500 to St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School in Hemlington, to fund a visit from prominent children’s author and illustrator Liz Million.
The school which is located near to the Elderwood Grove development enjoyed a visit from Liz Million, whose books include Be Quiet Belinda, Not So Silly Sausage and One Fat Cat. The children’s author visited the school and led workshops tailored to each year group, where she shared her storytelling and illustration techniques with the students.
Andrea Porritt, St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School Trust Business Manager said: "The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet a real-life author and illustrator. Liz Million's visit was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils and staff, and we really appreciate Taylor Wimpey's support in investing in the education and well-being of our pupils."

Getting colourful and creative in support of good mental health
Our North Yorkshire team donated £1,000 to support Teesside Mind’s Colour Run events, where hundreds of children and young people gathered to celebrate good mental health.
Pupils at Chandler’s Ridge Academy and The King’s Academy enjoyed getting colourful while understanding the importance of taking care of their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Last year, Teesside Mind helped 15,000 local people manage their mental health and offer support through services such as private counselling, wellbeing courses and therapy.
Claire Pitt, Fundraising Manager at Teesside Mind said: “We’re so grateful for this donation from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire which means we can support hundreds more local school children helping them build emotional resilience. We’ve also been able to provide wellbeing resource packs for each school to further support this learning. We can’t thank the team enough for their donation!”
