We repaired the Crowthorne and Wokingham Mens Shed
As a result of the extensive repair work, the Wokingham and Crowthorne Men’s Shed now have a weatherproof building which will include a variety of equipment for its members to use, including wood working machines. After receiving our support, the 31-member strong hub, which aims to provide men with a social space to make friends whilst learning new skills and sharing their experiences and concerns, has now open its doors to the Wokingham and Crowthorne community.
Peter Keigan, Chairman of Crowthorne & Wokingham Without NMI Men’s Shed, said: “For the last four years we’ve been looking for our own building that will give the Crowthorne and Wokingham community a space for men to socialise and engage in activities together, as well as benefit from emotional support from their peers. We’re really grateful for the action taken by Taylor Wimpey and D. Adams & Sons Roofing Ltd to help repair our facility.”
We support horse rescue charity
SAFE, a local horse rescue charity in Wokingham, is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and abused horses, many of which require urgent medical care.To support their efforts, we contributed a £200 donation towards their mascot ponies at the Family Fun Day and Dog Show held on Saturday, 27th July at Cantley Park in Wokingham.
Emma, a member of the SAFE Fundraising Team, said: “Unlike other horse rescues, we focus on abandoned and abused horses that are often in critical condition, requiring immediate medical treatment or even hospitalisation to recover. Sadly, we receive numerous requests for help, sometimes daily, and we also strive to prosecute those responsible for the abuse.
“The funds raised from the event will cover essential costs such as veterinary care, feed, and shelter for the horses in SAFE’s care. As a volunteer-run organisation, SAFE relies on donations to continue its vital work, and Taylor Wimpey’s support will make a significant difference in the lives of many horses.”
