    About the area

    The attractive town centre is just a mile away from the property in Willenhall, with a choice of supermarkets, plus local shops, pubs and places to eat. Much of the town centre is a designated conservation area, centred around the Market Place and Victorian Clock Tower.

    From the M6

    Leave the M6 at junction 10 and take the B4464 (Wolverhampton Road West) towards Wolverhampton. Turn right at the junction with the A462 onto Clarkes Lane, following this road straight over the roundabout, then take the 2nd left turn onto Spring Lane where the development can be found.

    From Wolverhampton

    Take the A4124 (Wednesfield Road) out of the centre of Wolverhampton. Follow this road over 7 roundabouts continuing on the A4124 (changing to Lichfield Road). Take the right hand turn at the junction with the A462 Cannock Road and head south towards Willenhall. Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Coppice Lane, then follow this road taking the 7th left hand turn onto Spring Lane where the development can be found.

    Willenhall Town FC nets donation from Taylor Wimpey

    Players at Willenhall Town Football Club will kick off the new season with help from Taylor Wimpey, which has become one of the club’s pitch sponsors.

    As part of the homes being built at Spring Walk, we have pledged £500 to the club, which is putting this towards the cost of renting the pitch at Long Lane Park in Long Lane, Essington.

    Last year was the club’s inaugural season at its new home, having spent the previous 38 years at Noose Lane in Willenhall.

    Simon Hall, Chairperson of Willenhall Town FC, says: “We’ve just had our first season at Long Lane Park and it’s worked very well. We moved there to get a better deal and more use of the facilities.

    “People don’t realise that one of the biggest expenses for many football clubs is the cost of renting a pitch – and this is the case for us. We’ve now got the first part of the year sorted and are now working on getting sponsorship for the rest of the season.

    “We have what is essentially a consortium of businesses sponsoring us of which Taylor Wimpey is now one.

    “This £500 donation will make a big difference in helping us continue to play football this season. It’s been very, very well received and is much appreciated. It’s great Taylor Wimpey have supported us as they’re building lots of new homes in the area.”
