  • About the site

    About the Site

    The site is located within the jurisdiction of Nuneaton and Bedworth Council, to the east of Nuneaton, within the ward of Whitestone.

    The site covers an area of approximately 78.6 acres of agricultural farmland.  The north and east of the site is bound by agricultural land, with the existing residential edge to the south and west.

    Local Plan

    The function of the local plan document is to strategically plan where growth should go in the Borough over the period between 2011-2031, to meet housing and employment needs for the area in response to the economic, social and environmental issues facing the area.  The publication draft contains the following development targets for the plan period;

    13,374 dwellings
    103.6ha employment land

    The housing target has subsequently increased to 14,060 homes following the Stage 2 Examination in Public, which considers Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough’s needs (10,040) and further accounts for the unmet need originating from Coventry City (4,020).

    Further details on the local plan process and evidence base can be viewed on the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council website here
