Supporting the communities in which we build

Proud to support the E20 community

As part of Taylor Wimpey's national Proud campaign we donated £300 to three good causes that work in the community around Chobham Manor. Our local team chose to support Bikeworks, Community Links and Iroko Theatre Co because of the work they each do to support residents in the Stratford area. 

Bikeworks is a social enterprise that provides access to cycling for all, based at Lee Valley VeloPark - right next door to Chobham Manor. Community Links is a community charity rooted in East London that provides support and opportunities to thousands of people every year. Iroko Theatre Co is a traditional African theatre company that uses storytelling, drama, music and dance to educate, focusing particularly on children and young people.

Michael O’Leary, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East London, said: “At Taylor Wimpey we are proud to support local causes which do such valuable work around our developments. We hope that our donations will help Bikeworks, Community Links and Iroko Theatre Co to continue to provide much-needed services for local people.” 

Leaving a lasting legacy at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

We helped pupils from Chobham Academy get green-fingered by donating daffodil bulbs for them to plant outside their school. The bulbs were donated by our East London team as part of the national Proud campaign, showing our commitment and pride in leaving a lasting legacy in the communities in which we build. 

We also donated gloves, trowels and rakes to the school for the bulb planting, which took place in November 2018. Members of the Chobham Manor team joined in with the planting and the bulbs have since bloomed into a beautiful spring display.

Francesca Perry, Head of Chobham Academy’s primary school said: “It’s great to see a company like Taylor Wimpey think about the wider community while they are building in the local area, and leave something beautiful behind that will last for years to come."
