    Downsizers Liz and Robert love their new Taylor Wimpey home

    Homebuyers Liz and Robert Golder are enjoying their new lifestyle after relocating to Fair Acres in Honeybourne, Worcestershire, back in June 2016.

    The couple decided that after 36 years of living in their five-bedroom property in Solihull, the time was right to move to a smaller four-bedroom ‘Shelford’ home at the development, where they are now enjoying their retirement.

    “We wanted to move away from Solihull to live somewhere quieter,” Liz (65) says. “We looked at a few sites but we really liked the location of Fair Acres and when we visited the development found it was very spacious and nicely laid out.

    “Our old home was a semi-detached property built in the 1920s, and was expensive to run. We made the decision to downsize to a new-build so that we could spend more time enjoying our retirement and less time on property maintenance. We’ve found that the house and the garden are so much more manageable.

    “We love everything about the house. My favourite area is the open-plan kitchen/diner, while Robert uses part of the double garage for wood-working. The location of our plot on the development is perfect too. We aren’t overlooked and we have great views across the fields behind us.

    “We found the buying process very smooth and Taylor Wimpey have been incredibly helpful, both before and after we moved to the development – we really couldn’t fault them.”
